Medical Care

Medical Care

The mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of individuals is under tremendous threat from the rising rate of improper care, lack of awareness, lack of primary health care in villages. By helping individuals and communities to take small measures to improve their health through primary health care centers, we can help change the course of many lives in villages. By engaging individuals, schools, communities, and organizations to share their solutions to provide health care facilities at the grass root level we aim to achieve our goal of “Primary health management with affordable medical acare facilities at every village cluster in selected zones”

In 2010, Brahmanaad with its available resources started funding Rupees 1000 per month in 4 primary private clinics in sponsoring free medical advise, providing preventive medicine for kids. We started encouraging local small clinics in the communities in Orissa, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh to provide free, primary medical care for atleast 5 patients in a month.

The program now have gained traction and there are network of hospitals and a sizeable fund that helps us in sponsoring the primary health care for more than two days in a week in the most vulnerable zones of the country. In fact, we are striving to build a network of primary healthcare clinics, which act as feeders to the large government and private medical health centers to serve a full spectrum of services.

We aim to touch more than 10,000 people by end of Q2 of 2015. by providing primary medical care and dental care. We are also addressing the need for making affordable insurance cover facilities for medical treatment in surrounding low-income communities. Through volunteer network we are planning for mobile healthcare units that can address the challenge of access for patients in remote villages.

As part of this initiative we are using technology to address the education and awareness of basic hygiene, care of pregnancy, cleanliness, to reduce medication errors, preventing spread of diseases through low cost SMS and pamphlets in the local languages. Over the past 3 years, the program has consistently helped patients improve their health and safety. In the next 12 months, by the end of September 2015, we aim to increase the coverage to 20 more villages.

It’s clear that with specific care, patients – those who don’t have regular access to the most basic health care resources – are truly able to improve their own health and wellness given the proper care and education. And with these results, we know that we can help even more people who are in need throughout our communities, which is why we’re working to expand our services.
